Training and education are an important part of how CenterWell Home Health®  clinicians are supported as they get started in their role. Our Field Clinician Education Program ensures that new registered nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech language pathologists, social workers and home health aides are fully prepared to deliver exceptional patient care in the home. Our hiring process

Orientation overview

Our goal is to create an engaging training experience for new clinicians. The program is guided by our Field Clinician Educator (FCE) team, where clinicians work alongside a peer mentor, using a detailed clinical orientation map as a learning guide. Orientation is usually completed in around 6-10 weeks, but can vary depending on clinician experience and progression.

Week-by-week training

Participate in weekly self-paced modules and live virtual sessions, covering essential topics such as Medicare basics, time and visit management, care coordination, EMR systems training and more.

Hands-on learning

Observe other disciplines and attend field visits with one-on-one mentoring to enhance your practical skills. We encourage questions and value feedback, ensuring open and collaborative communication.

Team connections and office integration

Learn about each department within the office and participate in meetings to build familiarity and collaboration. Meet clinicians across all disciplines that you'll collaborate with on a regular basis.

Practical and guided learning 

Participate in a mix of self-paced, live virtual and in-person trainings that accommodate different learning styles and provide a well-rounded education.

Field Clinician Educator support meetings

Attend weekly meetings with your FCE and receive one-on-one education and personal documentation feedback to ensure you're on the right track and feel confident in your progress.

Clinical manager check-ins

Receive continued support through regular check-ins with your clinical manager to set goals and plan for ongoing development, ensuring new field clinicians are fully trained to deliver exceptional care to patients.

Once orientation is complete, clinicians will receive additional training to learn about our evidence-based clinical programs over the course of several weeks. These programs train clinicians in advanced-level care and self-management education for patients with complex wounds and chronic conditions such as diabetes and heart failure.
